CHARLOTTE PATTERSON

Artist, Photographer (Los Angeles, CA)

Born in Vermont and raised in Los Angeles, Patterson works in both analog and digital photography, often fusing the two in dynamic, forward-thinking processes. Her intent is to build upon Minimalism's decades-long emphasis on impersonal austerity, plain geometric configurations and industrially processed materials. By pursuing a journey toward abstraction in her photography, and introducing new elements and techniques in new ways, the aesthetic of Minimalism will influence her work for years to come. Patterson received a B.A. in Photography from Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, NY and currently lives and works in the Brewery Art Colony in Los Angeles, one of the oldest and largest artist colonies in the world.
